FAQ

Vice City Showdown is a student-led nonprofit built by a group of South Florida students who share a love for Bhangra, dance, and bringing people together. As an independent 501(c)(3) organization, we created VCS to give collegiate teams a stage to compete, connect, and celebrate Punjabi culture while building something meaningful for the South Florida community.

Bhangra is a high-energy traditional Punjabi folk dance known for its powerful movements, colorful costumes, and upbeat music. Today, colleges across the country have competitive Bhangra teams made up almost entirely of students. These teams often practice 10+ hours a week while also handling everything behind the scenes themselves, from choreography and music mixes to fundraising, costumes, flights, hotels, and competition fees. A few minutes on stage can represent months of work, which is a big part of why the collegiate Bhangra circuit is so competitive and so passionate.

Team applications are open now through a Google Form, and the link is on the Apply page. The regular deadline is October 26th ($90 fee) and the late deadline is November 13th ($120 fee).

Liaison applications open via a Google Form in November. The link will be posted on the Apply page and on our Instagram.
